Kettering Refugee Assistance (KRA) is seeking to become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation which will work with Her Majesty’s Government, Local Authorities and members of the local Community to sponsor a vulnerable Syrian refugee family and enable them to relocate from a refugee camp in the Middle East and come to live in Kettering or the local district.
The refugee family will be selected by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees and be subject to rigorous vetting by the Home Office. Community Sponsorship of Refugees is supported by Her Majesty’s Government who provide extra funds for school places and health services.
Members of KRA will raise funds to support this work and co-operate with other agencies to identify suitable housing on a two year lease. KRA will help the refugee family to gain access to health services, school places and English language classes. KRA volunteers will work with the family and help them integrate with the local community within Kettering or the local district.
